Video to audio: key facts
Framekit extracts an existing audio track from a compatible video as MP3 or WAV. The result contains no video. A source without usable audio produces a clear error instead of an empty audio download.

A practical guide
Extract the sound from a video
Save a recording’s soundtrack for listening or further editing, using media you have the right to process. This tool extracts an existing audio track; it does not transcribe speech, separate voices from music or create sound for a silent video.
How to convert video to MP3 or WAV
- Choose one compatible video with an audio track. If the source is silent, the engine explains that there is no audio to extract.
- Choose MP3 for a compressed listening file or WAV for uncompressed PCM audio. WAV can be substantially larger than MP3.
- Select Extract audio. Listen to the generated audio in the result player, then download the MP3 or WAV file. No video track is included in the output.
Output format and quality
MP3 is encoded at 192 kbps. WAV uses PCM signed 16-bit audio. Output duration can differ slightly from the displayed video duration because audio tracks and encoder padding are not always identical to the video timeline.
File size and browser limits
Each input is limited to 250.0 MB. Size is checked before processing starts. These limits do not guarantee that every smaller file will fit your device’s available memory.
Long or high-resolution footage can need significant time and memory. Use shorter clips or smaller inputs if the browser cannot finish. The source stays on your device; processing loads the local engine only when needed. Read the format and processing FAQ and privacy policy for the limits and temporary data handling.
